From Baku to New York: A Fordham Scholar with a Passion for Marketing, Fashion, and Global Perspectives
Hi! I’m Maryam and I’m a Junior at Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business, pursuing a B.S. in Global Business with a Global Marketing with Consumer Insights concentration and a Fashion Studies minor. I was born in Baku, Azerbaijan, where I completed my high school degree before moving to New York. At Fordham, as a Marketing Scholars Candidate, I am one of 40 students in a program aimed at providing unique, high-profile opportunities to advance marketing careers through visits to leading advertising agencies and exposure to other industry-leading professionals.
My past internships have allowed me to apply my classroom business skills in the real world, working on the marketing section of companies such as The Trops, Cooperative.io, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and SOCAR. All of my experience led me to one final decision, it being that I love working with people and producing creative content.
I am also a multilingual international student, fluent in Russian, English, and Azerbaijani, as well as conversational in Turkish and German. Moving to the US at 16 made me able to quickly adapt to new environments and learn new skills, which I consider to be my main strength. Additionally, being an international student allows me to offer a different and global perspective on specific ideas and issues within any field.
So strongly and metaphysically did I conceive of my situation then, that while earnestly watching his motions.
One way to announce or promote a certain new product or special events is perhaps through using of vinyl.
